There are many good reasons for an aspiring economist to spend an academic year at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität Munich.
Both young and established scholars teach at the Department of Economics. Their research covers all important economic areas. Many of them studied or worked at the world’s best universities and are now leading members of the international scientific community.
The teaching program allows the students to specialize in many different areas like public economics, microeconomics, international economic relations and economics of transition or economic and social history.
The Department of Economics offers many facilities to ensure access to the newest technology and up-to-date research. This in turn leads to exchange with leading research scientists.
These facilities include well equipped libraries, a modern computer lab and the CES (Center for Economic Studies).
Finally, Munich is one of the most attractive cities of Germany. The university is located at the edge of the district Schwabing with its many cafés, discotheques, studios and galleries. The “Englische Garten” is only three minutes away from the Department of Economics.
